Will the new 3D catalyst software be able to work with existing pgmf files, or will it only work with gpx files?

Yes you should be able to import your Fortius Catalyst pgmf profiles.

Is this a new video being run or an existing one? I don't see any black bars at the top and bottom on the 16 x 9 monitor which would occur if the new super-wide cinemascope video was run in native mode. Has the image been resized to fill the screen?

Its an image from the Fortius software (with the Galibier), you can just see an enlarged image of the TTC software to the side.

There will be 2 versions available
1. Fortius Software (shipped with all the VR trainers)
2. Tacx Trainer Software (sold separate !!!)

So it is an add-on to the VR trainers

Ok, I am utterly confused now. :? Could you please define what the (1) Fortius Software and the (2) Tacx Trainer Software consists of ??? Is the new 3D Catalist part of (1) or (2)??

Thanks,

Anne

Yes I can

1. The Fortius Software is the software that Tacx delivers now with the VR trainers (Fortius , Fortius MP and i-Magic trainer)
This consist of
Virtual Reality (stand alone and MP)
Real Life Video (stand alone and MP)
Catalyst (standard)

This software is shipped since 2005

No the new software is called Tacx Trainer Software. (TTS)
This consist of
1 Catalyst (same idea as Fortius Software)
2. Real Life Video (same idea as Fortius Software)
3. Real Life Trainer (gps training)

The biggest difference between Fortius and TTS is that the visuals are different
In TTS you can do a RLV training. You will see the video, but at the same time you can see in Google Earth were you are riding in the video
For the Real Life Training it is possible to import GPS information and the software will make this data Virtual (a bit like Virtual Reality on the Fortius Software). Also the available visual will be that you can have Google Earth to see were you are rinding in your GPS ride.

There are also other features but the big picture is
Google Earth Display
Virtal Display of Catalyst rides and Real Life Training Rides
ride GPS tracks.

I hope this makes it a bit more clear

Remember. This software is NOT available yet.

So now I am confused too.

Where does the Catalyst 3D software come in to play. Is it separate from the TTS software, or is it part of the Catalyst software that is included in TTS.

Catalyst 3D is the product I am eagerly awaiting...

Catalyst 3d is just a visualisation ( in 3-d ) of the catalyst program. ( or gps program ) nothing more nothing less

This should be an exciting winter for Tacx. But I expect there will be growing pains with any of the 3D associated with google earth. They would do well to offer a beta to people that times out, like Adobe does. That way we can complain happily and not be miserable because we spent money and time on something that is buggy. Anyone know if Tacx is thinking of this?

VT hillclimber - hey lets not get all negative :) Maybe it will work seamlessly and have no problems at all - I'm sure they have done their beta testing. I'm looking forward to picking this up ASAP!

Cheers Peter.
