Allocation for Boot Camp

Post by jack » Thu Oct 11, 2018 4:14 am

I replaced the drive in my 2010 iMac with a 500 GB Samsung SSD with 375 GB now available. Original graphics are Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB, the processor is 2.93 InTel Core i7, and 16 gigs of memory. How much Boot Camp space should I set up to be optimal for my TTS 4 ?

Thanks

Ideally have an external USB HD, and store the actual videos etc., on this. Otherwise if you have any number of videos, space will vanish fast...
With the external drive you only need space for Windows, TTS itself and the actual ride records.
A base install of W10, requires about 20GB of space. TTS4 recommends 15GB for it's minimum. So with a bit of free space, a sensible minimum would probably be perhaps 50GB. Anything less than this makes it likely you will have space issues.
'Optimal' would be the entire 500GB!...
I'd say 64GB is 'sensible' with a good chance of working OK.
