TTS4 and Diag Tool Both CTD.

Post by chrisreb » Mon Jun 25, 2018 10:24 am

Running Win 10 1803.
Running Win 10 1803.

TT$ ran fine until this week. Now I start the TTS4 and get to main menu. If I select any session from Left Hand Menu I get CTD under either user we have set up. Diagnostic Tool also does CTD.

No error messages show. Tried running as Administrator, Compatability Under Win 7 and 8 but same result. My wife did get it working after 9 attempts this morning but this is obviously not acceptable.

As I cannot use the Diagnostic Tool either can you help? TTS version is 4.22.7.0. Tried with AV switched off in case that was the issue. Also checked videos play normally outside TTS.
Sent e mail to Tacx support.

All these videos and expensive trainer and now unusable

And what does the log of the TTS4 say?
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Logs

I have been through and disabled almost everything except my AV. from starting

I have now started the TTS4 3 times after system restarts. I will now monitor this for a day or two.

Indications are that something was interfering with TTS access to a temp file? I am no expert but will see if stopping everything else has solved it.

[INFO 2018/06/25 11:03:50:4381] TTSDATASERVICE: Total trainings folder size: 146089954 bytes.
To avoid many problems with the functioning of the TTS4, periodically clean these folders:
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Trainings\Catalyst\Runs
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Trainings\Ergo\Runs
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Trainings\RLT\Runs
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Trainings\RLV\Runs
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Trainings\Tests\Runs
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Trainings\VR\Runs
Move the important rides to another location outside of the folder TTS4. The rest just delete.

It may very well be that this is Kaspersky antics.

Use Performance Monitor to find out what process a temporary file is busy with.

As it started in Safe Mode I have been working through every running process. Alarmingly I found a Microsoft badged Malware blocker running which I do not remember installing. I have uninstalled this and TTS4 has been starting.

I am hopeful that this is the culprit and will see how we go.
