Google Earth license from 1 September 2012

Post by Tacx support » Fri Jul 27, 2012 12:00 pm

Due to a decision by Google, Tacx is no longer allowed to offer the Google Earth application as a free feature. From September 2012 on, a Google license needs to be purchased to keep access to Google Earth in the Tacx Trainer software. The Google license costs 30 euro for one year and is available in the shop and through the Tacx online shop. The article number is T1990.75.

From the versions 4.2 and 3.11 on, the Tacx Trainer software will be extended with some special Google features for a lifelike cycling experience. With the route planner you can automatically create a GPS route and then ride it yourself. While cycling you can choose between Google Maps and Google satellite view. Also new is Google Street View, a function that adds images to the GPS course. When you have connected a VR steering frame or BlackTrack steering frame to your trainer, you can move the camera to the left and to the right in Google Street View
