pgmf files

Post by stoobydale » Wed Jan 14, 2009 2:28 am

Hi, Can someone tell me if there is anywhere to download pgmf files? There seems to be lots of stuff available for the vr trainers. I am looking for some of the big climbs in particular. Also I have been told that there is a convertor available for Garmin to Cosmos conversions. Is this true?

Download this program:

http://www.cykelmaraton.dk/filehost.htm

Then make sure you save your file from MapSource (Garmin) into .gpx format, and open them with it.

Then it will convert in into a .pgm file than you have to rename manually to .pgmf

If you are a little adventurous, you can even trace something on Google Earth, save it to .kml file.

Then have the .kml file filled for altitudes with

http://www.nearby.org.uk/elevation-kml.php

Then use gpsbabel

http://www.gpsbabel.org/

to go from .kml to .gpx and you can basically download anything you want from Google Earth to your Cosmos trainer.

Don't forget to make a donation to all these different sites if you can.

Hope this helps.
