Sometimes TTS4 crashes

Post by kanesaxo » Fri Jan 12, 2018 11:59 pm

Hello from Greece!

One-almost-happy user of a Vortex trainer, which i purchased used with a TTS4 full license.

I've installed the program in a Dell i5 8GB SSD win7 64 bit onboard GPU. The PC had fresh install win7 (genuine)

So, sometimes the app crashes. It hasn't a pattern...Could crash after 40', not crash at 1h 15' etc.

Can someone give me an advice ? or some guideline? I'm getting craze when i cannot finish a workout :(

Y.G. Thanks in advance and i'm sorry if the topic is at wrong thread

Let's take a look at the logs:
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Logs
The fastest access to this folder: copy here the path to it and paste it in the address bar of Explorer or browser.

Thanks for the fast answer, though i wasnt fast enough to see it.

So, i'm posting a dropbox link with the last logs. As i remember it crashed and i opened the app again (that's why i believe there are more files than the usual 2).

Thanks in advance, once more

Yes, this is mysterious:
Exception (System.NullReferenceException): Δεν έχει οριστεί αναφορά αντικειμένου σε μια παρουσία αντικειμένου.
σε Tacx.Modules.SegmentPanels.Views.Graphs.TrainingCentreGraphViewModel.UpdateData(Object o)
σε Microsoft.Practices.Prism.Events.EventSubscription`1.InvokeAction(Action`1 action, TPayload argument)
σε Microsoft.Practices.Prism.Events.EventSubscription`1.<>c__DisplayClass2.<GetExecutionStrategy>b__0(Object[] arguments)
σε Microsoft.Practices.Prism.Events.EventBase.InternalPublish(Object[] arguments)
σε Microsoft.Practices.Prism.Events.CompositePresentationEvent`1.Publish(TPayload payload)
σε Tacx.Modules.RaceController.Controllers.AbstractRaceController.PublishLoop()
σε System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state)
σε System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean preserveSyncCtx)
σε System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean preserveSyncCtx)
σε System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
σε System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()
It looks like a failure in displaying graphs on the screen.
I would suggest that you try the following (together or separately):
1) in the settings, switch the video player 2.0 to the video player 1.0
In some strange way, this can have an effect even for training in the Catalyst;
2) check, will the situation change if you disable the Internet.

Also use the Tacx support tool to send the report to support.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about: graphs of speed, power, cadence.

I've changed the Video player to 1.0, and it worked.

But i ll check it more times, beacuse as i said there wasn't a pattern...

Let's hope so it works.

We ll be in touch.

Y.G. i have the "old" vortex, which is connected with a usb ant+ to laptop. My heart rate belt also is ant+, as my cadence/speed sensor (from a bryton 310).
Everything works fine.
Can i connect it with the new Tacx trainer app in my smartphone or ipad? Do i need a otg usb ant+ stick ? (because app searches only through bluetooth)

In this you can not be sure. Recently, the Tacx Training app is attributed to Tacx Cloud applications, which are declared compatible only with smart trainers:
https://tacx.com/product/tacx-software/

However, the Tacx Cycling app is still indicated as compatible with old ANT+ trainers through ANT+ dongle:
https://tacx.com/product/tacx-cycling-app/

Note that the TTA page continues to exist in isolation, where compatibility is also indicated:
https://tacx.com/product/tacx-training-app/

And often out of date and hidden web pages. I think you are the premier locator of hidden stuff.

Every link i clicked on TTS4, doesnt redirect to TACX mini page...Everytime "page not found"...

I have an idea... i have a Blackview BV8000pro. It has USB-C and an OTG usb-c to usb female.

Should i connect the tacx ant+ dongle i have (from Vortex) and try ?

Yes, try this. I always applaud such creative search. Sometimes it allows you to find the most unexpected solutions.

Knock knock!!! I'm bringing good news.

I've connected as i said the TACX Vortex's ANT+ USB stick to my OTG smartphone. Downloaded the new TACX App.

1) HRM monitor ant+ working
2) combined speed/cadence ant+ working
3) Tacx Vortex 2160 works (calibrated etc) and it reads it something like 9280 (?)

Here a pic...

Thank you! This is really good news. Please also inform the models of sensors used. It would also be helpful.
