It's interesting to look at the Tacx logs when it doesn't work.

On a working system (starting then coming straight out):
[INFO 2017/08/03 15:07:13:9696] RUNSERVICE: Selected course: descent
[INFO 2017/08/03 15:07:14:1088] VIDEO: Advanced Video Player is used in Training Centre.

[INFO 2017/08/03 15:08:02:7806] TRAINERSOFTWARE: Closed application.

On a non working system:
[INFO 2017/08/03 14:49:14:7577] RUNSERVICE: Selected course: gentle 8m descent
[INFO 2017/08/03 14:49:14:8720] VIDEO: Advanced Video Player is used in Training Centre.
[INFO 2017/08/03 14:49:16:2651] GOOGLE: tcp listener started
[INFO 2017/08/03 14:49:18:4804] TRAININGCENTRE: LoadLayout: DualVideo

It's exactly the same point in the Tacx logs, as it was failing when there was the problem with Google a few weeks ago.
It just literally dies, and does not write anything more to the Tacx logs. The two systems have different course names. it's exactly at the point where it loads the video driver to support the Google stuff....

This is with VP2.

OK.
My friend who also had the Creators update problem, has got it working.

1) Disabled the Game bar, and Game mode (this was causing problems with other programs).
2) Used VP1 (VP2 crashes with a .Net error recorded).
3) Deleted and re-installed the graphic driver.
4) Did a reset on the network adapter.

With this all done his system is now running with the Creators update. It was the combination of '1' and '2' that actually seemed to get it going.

A test with the game bar on, showed that the second part of TTS4 (I think this is the thread handling network I/O), gets throttled, leading to crashes.

I have a 32-bit Creator's Edition that I had to do a clean install on after the upgrade kept failing and the PC became a bit of a mess after trying to restore the OS after repeated Creators Edition install failures. So far, this clean install is working reasonably well with TTS4 (did have what appears to be an isolated crash). This particular PC had a history of a free upgrade to W10 from W7, so it is always hard to know what baggage it might be carrying. Other than TTS3 and TTS4, there were very few other programs on the PC and it had always performed extremely well with TTS when W7 was the OS.

I did stop using VP2 some time ago as it caused a lot of problems. On the clean install of Creators Edition 1703, I let Windows do all the device driver installs, including video, which Windows got from AMD.

Even though reinstalling the OS can fix things, I always hesitate to advise people to reinstall the OS as that can create its own set of problems and if there are a lot of other programs that need to be reinstalled, it can be a lot of work and can create license issues. I had to reinstall TT3 from scratch (did this first), then TTS4, each of which required running a large number of updates. I did not open either program until both had been fully installed with all updates. Before doing the Creators Edition clean install, I saved the entire program data folders for TTS3 and TTS4 and copied them over after the TTS3 and TTS4 reinstall, which avoided any license issues or the tedious work of reinstalling a lot of videos.

I see 4.22.5 is out. Has anyone tried it yet? I am usually an early adopter but not this time

I did an RLV yesterday using 4.22.5, still using Videoplayer 1, simply because I forgot to switch. No issues except a bit of jerkiness in the Google Earth window that I attribute to hiccups in the internet connection.
