Windows 7 or 8 ?
Hi
I'm looking to get a new PC and by ordering now I have the option of Windows 7 or 8 - I have received TTS4 which will be installed on the new PC.
Will TTS4 work ok on the Windows 8 system or will I be an unofficial Beta tester !!
Many Thanks
Neil

I would go with the unofficial betatester
You could get windows 7 with the optional update to 8 (at small extra cost) as opposed to one or the other
then create partition on hard drive & make it dual boot.. Win 7 on one partition ..install Win 7 on the other partition & update it to Win 8
might work & you then get both options

Just a thought, if you a re a DIY computer person, might I suggest you get Windows 7 and get a BETA of Windows 8 and then use the free VMWare Player to install Windows 8 as a virtual machine that runs on the Windows 7 box.

yep, the TTS4 software works, but windows 8 does not recongnise ant2usb stick... where do i find drivers for it?? Those that came with TTS4.1 DVD don't work and windows update does not find any new ones from interner...yeuxbleus wrote:got it to work so far on win8 preview release version. no bugs so far, allthough i would prefer to have it run on ubuntu with wine.

Greetings from Finland !
There have already been a fair number of posts about the unavailability of drivers. Sounds like you will have to wait for awhile. This is not uniquely a Tacx problem. To my knowledge, Tacx has never advertised that its software is W8 comptatible.JariT72 wrote:yep, the TTS4 software works, but windows 8 does not recongnise ant2usb stick... where do i find drivers for it?? I'm running TTS4 on Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and It seems to be ok. There are some strange issues during install, but all seems to be sorted out automatically.
However I have not had any opportunity to really put TTS through it's paces yet with windows 8 so there may be problems I just have not come across yet.

Re: Windows 7 or 8 ?
Hi, I have just installed TTS 4.6 on av 5 years old NoteBook running W8 64 bits, I experience some problems With videoplayer (program fails when I want to go back to Select Window), I also have problems when I Select avatar, both problems are reported to Tacx, they have reported the problem to the Developers, I also experience that the program hangs, maybe I'm to quick going aroung selecting display modes during the ride, thinking to test it on W7.
I have my first ride based on my own GPS rides to day, very funny

Can you do a quick explanation about the 2 problems you got in W8 to me? either personal in PM (for more depth) or here cause i've not read about those issues before.

Re: Windows 7 or 8 ?
I just set up the TTS4.1 on Windows 8. Everything ok seemed to install well, except that I cannot create a User ID (so I cannot start training!!!
. Anyone have that problem? Is it a compatibilty problem?

Specifically what happens? Have you read the manual on setting upon a User. If this is not working, I would send an email to support@tacx.com.JDO wrote:I just set up the TTS4.1 on Windows 8. Re: Windows 7 or 8 ?
I get the User ID page, but after I complete required info, I get a message that it was not accepted (will get exact wording tonight). I have sent a message to support, but was taking a chance of obtaining an answer here!
Re: Windows 7 or 8 ?
Ok - First, the system does not save changes I make to Global settings (i.e. lbs vs kilos) and when I enter User ID info I get the message Trainer software has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available...
Anyone get this?
