Android or iOS device? I have never had an issue updating with a Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone or Galaxy Tab S2 tablet (both Android), setting the phone down on the saddle of the bike and leaving it there until it completes.

That's exactly what I do with an iPhone when updating... apart from "turn BT off and on again" messages. Always worked.

What are you asking/saying?? Is that name of your tablet & it is not updating firmware with the "utility application" & you would like some help/advice/assistance.

it just helps if you give some information for any of us to help you, this is a "user" forum so the help and assistance you receive will be from fellow users, not from tacx

The previous post would appear to be in regards to attempts to update with the Tacx Utility App using the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Android Smartphone.

Sorry, thought that somebody from tacx is reading this forum..

Yeah, it's mobile smartphone from Xiaomi. Using Utility app. Update starts, it displays "rebooting" message and nothing happens then. Tried to switch on/off bluetooth/trainer..
Today will try to update via iPad..

Thanks for help.

Just updated my Neo from and Android with the latest 1.7.1 update utility and 0.2.1/0.6.2/0.7.3 firmware

It stopped halfway, restarting Bluetooth had no effect, and the application didn't want to stop, so cancelled the upload, rebooted the phone, restarted the app and went to update, it quickly caught up and continued where it left off and went to "preparing bootloader" then finished the update fine. I would not recommend powering off the Neo half way through, you may end up with a brick.

I forget what version I was on, but it was probably about 8 to 10 month since I updated it last.

Just upgraded from 0.2.1/0.6.2/0.7.3 firmware to 0.2.1/0.6.2/0.7.5 firmware and same again, stopped halfway at a rebooting prompt, same procedure fixed it.

Tried to update using Android 7 (Samsung Galaxy 8 and Sony Z3 Tablet) but couldn't. No go. Then i used an old iPhone 4 with the latest firmware and everything ran smoothly. It did work.

The above also worked for me using a Sony Z1 tablet but it took me several attempts.
One of them went through the whole procedure but left me with my initial firmware, but the next one made me smile going all the way to 0.2.1/0.6.2/0.7.5 firmware :D

Hello.
Android 4.4.2
Impossible to make the update. The update stops before half way (rebooting and then update failure message). I tried everything, impossible to restart the update, obliged to start all over again and same failure every time.

Any ideas?

Hi,

after hours of pain i got a working solution for my brick Neo - the firmware was broken after serveral failed updates.Sorry for my bad english, i'll try my best.

Following guide worked for me with my old Samsung S4 mini with Android 4.4.4 .
Maybe it helps.

Here we go.

The update stops or hangs at first at "rebooting". The Bluetooth connection seems to be disabled or off-turned. I cannot turn it back on - only with rebooting the phone.
- Now don't stop the Update or reboot your mobile phone. Don't close the Tacx Utility App.
- For Android 4.4.4. go into the Settings -> Application manager -> switch to "all" -> Bluetooth Share.
- "Force stop" (or in german "Stopp erzwingen").
- reactivate the Bluetooth in the slide bar if its not activated already
- go back to the Tacx Utility
- maybe the Progress-Bar is moving forward, if not: switch to "device" and back to "Update.
- hopefully the update-progress is moving forward.

When the progress of the progress-bar is hanging for more than some seconds repeat the list above. Hopes it helps!

For me it worked perfectly ... my firmware was totally broken, the updater doesn' t even show a version of the broken rest. No its updated to 0.2.1/0.6.2/0.7.5.

Good luck! Ill fixed it right now and have to ride now... . Sorry for my bad english

Felix

Got my Tacx neo about 2 months back, worked like a charm in Zwift, until I yesterday had the idea to upgrade the firmware. Updating worked without problems on my Nexus 5X on android 8, the app told me that it was successful, even though the firmware was still at 0.2.1 / 0.6.2 / 0.4.2 after the process, while the newest firmware is 0.2.1 / 0.6.2 / 0.7.5. I tried it several times, even on my old samsung tablet (Android 4.4.2), but the result remained the same.

Today I wanted to go for a ride on zwift (all prepped for a FTP test), only to find out the Neo wasn't usable anymore. No RPM and no resistance, so no riding :(

I've contacted Tacx support, but was wondering if anyone else suffered the same problem.

Yes, very annoying - I found out after updating that there's a known issue - they really should take down the firmware as soon as it's found to have issues (https://www.facebook.com/groups/TacxNeo ... 856272174/). For me it just appears to be random cadence (which I fixed by using my power meter cadence instead), I didn't notice that the resistance was out of step with the terrain but I'll look closer next time. If you can use ANT+ that apparently works fine, I'm using Apple TV so I've emailed support asking for instructions to roll back firmware

It's kind of a technical point, but are you sure it is in the public domain? Or is it simply something a non-Tacx person has provided public access to?

Yes, inaccurate translation. This refers to public access.
