While this may be way off base, my understanding is that this firmware update would; (A) Allow the Bushido handlebar controller to pair with ANT+ Powermeters such as Powertap, Quarq, and SRM; and (B) the power output from the paired powermeter would not only be displayed on the handlebar controller, it would also be the power output upon which motorbrake resistance is based during training.
Exactly. That was what I took it to mean as well, and that would seem to be something that pro riders would ask for. But it sounds like this wouldn't work very well.

Well there is nothing like trying it to see how well it works. Until then, we can only speculate. What I am not clear about is whether or not it is available? Has anyone downloaded the firmware?

There are no new Bushido firmware updates available and navigating the link Phil posted to the Google Wattage group;

Quark powertap & SRM Ant+ so far, email me if you have any issues with

just to clarify my meesage above -
I followed the link that was mentioned by - ms6073
. according to the link - when you download the latest firmewere to your Bushido computer, ther is a possibility to conect the Bushido computer to an external power meter, but after installing the latest firmewere - I still don't have this possibility.

Whats going on with Tacx???

Not sure myself and nobody seems to want to clarify. On a scale of 0 to 10 for communications, I would give Tacx a -5. They also advertise a package of RLVs at rebate. I go on their website and can't find the package. So I send an e-mail to their sale department to inquire and never got a response. So as far as I'm concerned I can spend my money elsewhere, and if Tacx don't care, well too bad its their loss.

What are the latest firmware versions for Bushido? Mine has 0.5.4 for the computer, and 0.3.008 for the brake, and TTS claims it's the latest ones, but it doesn't have the mentioned settings/ext. sensor in the menu...
The same is happening to me..What's the solution????

Phil

I assume all of us who volunteered to test this previously will be notified when the new firmware is ready?

Yes it should be in the next week or so, first though they will test it a bit at the Tacx office to be sure its safe.

Testing beta firmware 0.5.9. Bike equipped with P2M power meter. The Bushido unit correctly reads the power from the P2M, not the power from the brake. Did a Catalyst Time-Watt training and ... Catalyst uses the power from P2M in the power feedback loop :-))))

So who can we contact to get those of us who are testing the Bushido ANT+ Powemeter firmware update added to that group so we can post observations/comments to the BETA topics area instead of bouncing e-mails back and forth between testers?

Yes, we know. I was suggesting that it would be helpful if there was a topic/forum available for those testing the firmware update.

You need to contact Vincent at Tacx and ask him if you can be part of the testing team. His e-mail is composed of his name followed by @tacx.nl.

This does not seem to work. No reply from Vincent.

Anyway - Since the beta test is now ongoing for a few weeks, i'm wondering when it will be finished and when we can expect a public release?
