Calibration on a fixed gear track bike

Post by Goyt » Sat Feb 06, 2016 1:01 pm

I'm wondering what the correct method to calibrate my Tacx Bushido Smart when using it with a fixed gear bicycle?

The calibration process says to 'stop pedalling' but that isn't really possible on a fixed gear, what is the recommended procedure? Just unclip from the pedals and let it spin or just let your legs spin down with the pedals?

No experience with fixies, but the update routine is uses the time required to for the rear wheel to spin down to zero as part of the calibration process, so assuming you are using clipless style pedals and not straps, my suggestion is to unclip your shoes from the pedals and move your legs out of harms way so that the rear wheel will spin down similar to how it would if you were using a geared bike.
