Adjusting Road Feel--Tacx Neo Smart 2800

Post by RavLev1 » Sat Aug 12, 2017 10:07 pm

Background: Just purchased my Tacx Neo Smart 2800 and am running Zwift. Successfully used the Tacx Utility App to update the firmware. So far, so good, but...

Problem: Zwift successfully controls the trainer but, when the Zwift course crossed a wooden bridge, a gravel road, and other road surfaces, the "Road Feel" didn't change. Zwift road feel control is toggled "on." I noticed that the Utility App "dashboard" features an adjustment for various road conditions and associated percentage numbers. Assuming the Utility App is the solution to my issue, how do I make the adjustments? And if not the aforementioned, what is the remedy?

You can verify that the road feel is working correctly by using the Test Dashboard in the Tacx Utility App. Depending on the device being used, you may need to scroll down to the bottom of the dash board to bring the road feel section into view, but from there, you can pedal the Neo while iterating through the various road feel options, which should be reflected in the feel in the pedals.

Very helpful response, ms6073. Thank you. Please tell me, what are the numeric adjustments to the right of each of the road feel selections on the utility app?

Sorry, no idea, I just iterated the list while pedaling. To hazard a guess, I would think the numerical adjustments allow the user to gradually increase/decrease the sensation for the selected road feel, which then begs the question as to whether or not the changes can be stored in the Neo firmware for later use.
