TDA assigns wrong time

Post by Loek » Wed Jan 10, 2018 9:27 pm

Recently I did an RLV in TDA. After exporting to Strava, on Strava I saw that the starting time was one hour off. Is it possible somehow to set the correct time zone in TDA? Seems an issue with the time zone I think.

No, It's actually the cloud that uploads your training to Strava
So TDA -> Cloud -> Strava.
What time zone are you on ? It could very well be a time zone issue

I'm in CET (UTC+1). Tacx Cloud actually shows the correct time (1:39 PM), but Strava shows one hour earlier roughly (12:49 PM).

Maybe one is set for daylight savings time and the other is not.

This might be a dumb question, but are your Windows time settings correct? Do you have "set time automatically" turned on and "adjust for daylight saving time automatically" turn on? Is "set time zone automatically" turned on (in which case you do not have to worry about daylight saving time setting).

The clock in Windows shows the correct time for me. 'Set time automatically' is turned on. 'Set time zone automatically' is disabled. The 'Time zone' is set correctly (UTC+1, Amsterdam). 'Adjust for daylight saving time automatically' is turned on.

I did check the .tcx file that TDA exports. And I think there is already the error. The .tcx file contains the starting time of the activity that is one hour too early. It mentions 11:49 (which is UTC I suppose). But the activity was at 12:49 UTC (13:49 CET). So seems to be a bug in TDA.

Loek, TDA does not even create a TCX so i doubt it's TDA ;-)

Again...

TDA > Cloud > Any export (inc strava)

The Cloud does every export so also the TCX files are from the cloud and not TDA.

Well, fair enough. But then Cloud should be fixed instead :). Did a test recently again, and still the same issue.
