Files Location

Hi all.

Does anyone know in MAC OS where the downloaded videos are located and if we can access them?

I have a few videos downloaded that are shown in my TDA, but i can't seem to find them in finder.

I do not think you can access them, its an issue for the mac version that the rides will fast fill your internal drive up as you cannot yet move or select a location to store these files.

Hmm, but is there a plan to try to access them and change location?

Because the main issue is that one, i need to ride and delete the video otherwise i will have my drive filled with videos very fast.

Same problem for me. If in the near future it's not possible to store the videos on an external drive, it would be enough to quit Tacx and migrate to Zwift.Does somebody know if that feature is planned ?

All,
I've figured out a way to move the files for TDA on the Mac. It stores the data in the Containers folder within the User's Library folder. To move your files to an external hard drive, you will simply copy the entire tacx folder in the container folder and make a symbolic link to it. A symbolic link is similar to an Alias, but is invisible to the program accessing it, which is why this solution works well. Just follow the steps below:

1. From the Terminal application, navigate to your Containers folder, located here(replace USERNAME with your username):

cd /Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers
2. Copy the ENTIRE folder called "com.tacx.tacxdesktop" to your external hard drive. This may take a while if you already have a lot of videos downloaded. Note: You MUST copy the ENTIRE folder. You can't just copy the Movies folder inside of it.

3. Once step 2 is complete, rename the ORIGINAL "com.tacx.tacxdesktop" folder in your Containers folder to something like "SAVED.com.tacx.tacxdesktop". You can delete this once you confirm the solution works.

4. Now create the Symbolic link by entering the following command in a Terminal window:

ln -s /PATH_TO_YOUR_COPIED_FOLDER/com.tacx.tacxdesktop /Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/com.tacx.tacxdesktop
(NOTE: Be sure to replace PATH_TO_YOUR_COPIED_FOLDER and USERNAME with the correct paths.)

5. Launch TACX Desktop App and confirm you still have access to your videos. You should also confirm you can successfully download new files.

6. Once you have confirmed the success of step 5, you can delete the folder you saved earlier called SAVED.com.tacx.tacxdesktop to free up your disk space.

That's it! I hope this works as well for you as it did for me. I now have access to all the videos I want and my internal hard drive is freed up!
