Okay I'm having a brain fart...I have a Tacx Fortius from 3 years ago and the form asks for T1941 softgel or aluminum roller....What do I have? Thank you.

Pretty simple - the roller on your motor brake (the round roller where the bicycle tire meets the roller of the motorbrake) is either made out of alluminum (shiny silver color) or an elastic plastic gel material.

The elastic plastic gel has a silver metal band around it and is white on the edges.

Thank you guys for the help. Now lets hope Tacx gets the e-mail better than it has received my other ones and responds back before this short window of opportunity.

Ooh - learned something new! Hope that this is not a big factor for the upgrade because not knowing what Mcorn clarified when I registered, I thought I had the aluminum roller but just checked and now realize I also have white softgel roller with the silver metal band!

I'm not really sure why they asked this question on the form. I believe the urethane with silver metal band is the only thing they currently manufacture, so that is likely what you will receive in return. You can always send Tacx another email correcting your registration.

oooops. A Canadian Fortius user here that would love to upgrade the motorbrake etc. I have downloaded the form but have not sent it in yet. Am I completely out of luck in obtaining the "upgrade". Phil any exceptions for the tardy ones?!
Cheers

Based on the response to those of us who did submit the registration form - ie a reply email amounting to 'they would get back to us' - then I would say there is still time.

So on that note - when are those of use who 'registered' for the upgrade going to get more information? The 13th has come and gone and nothing from TACX regarding how to handle payment etc.

The distributor in Canada has been calling people saying they have the package in their hands and are now shipping them to the bike shop of our choice. The bike shop is supposed to collect the payment.

Tacx has now announced the program, but everyone needs to be aware there is a pretty short window within which you must apply. The program registration is only good until Friday, February 13, 2009. So, I think it is important that everyone be aware. If you have any friends with a Fortius who do not check in frequently, you should inform them.

The price is US$225, which is pretty generous in that it also includes the new TTS software (probably worth around $100), three RLV's (worth around $150), and a 1 year Multiplayer license.

Details are at:

The only thing I can suggest is sending an email to support@tacx.nl and plead your case. I believe they sent emails out to registered users besides posting the announcement on the forum and the company website.

I was a registered user because I get all of their emails informing me of new products for sell. But I don't think I ever got an email about the 110V issue. That is the main reason I have been checking this forum regularly for the last 3 years. Fortunately I saw it on the forum.

understanding for missed date re 110 v notification

Post by sherbornpeddler » Sun Feb 22, 2009 11:28 pm

Bingo! I almost always decline promotional information. Per suggestion I have emailed Tacx. I am not sure of consequences either way but, like us all, want a solution. I hope Tacx is understanding.

I was late in my registration by a few days. I pleaded my case and was added to the list. I did receive an email saying they were adding another RLV but I have not heard anything from the distributor in Canada yet. Drop tacx support a line to see if you can get in.

not too late

Coltojn330,
Thanks. Happily I have the same experience. I received an email from the mother ship attached form and responded (at 26mph). I am not clear on how, who or when but have a handle on what and why.
Met vriendelijke groet,
SP
