import gps ride from strava

Post by markoxxx » Tue Feb 03, 2015 8:57 pm

Hi All, just joined the forum today and been searching for an answer, but i cant it anywhere.
i have the latest tts software, as i updated yesterday. so i can now import my rides from strava and using google maps ride them in doors, great stuff i was thinking, until i notice my ride are alot shorter after importing. the decimal point gets moved, so a 23 mile ride is now 2.3, Any ideas anyone plz, and help or tips or even a nudge in the right direction will be appreciated. Cheers. Mark

It has been suggested that download from Strava to your desktop, then import into TTS, this seems to work

My experience is to just download from Strave then look in your Download file and click on it - no worries. Works every time.

Thanks Lunatix. I hadn't realised you needed a Google licence to see these rides. I have now purchased a licence and everything is as it should be. I was hoping to use the street view level but it seems that a minimal overhead view is the closest you can get with Google.

Not sure if this will address your question, but the following was excerpted from the No street View topic:

Toggles through the views, including various 'mixes'.

You can't actually select 'StreetView' as the default, since quite a few things can't actually work in it (no free riding for example), but once you are in Google Maps, it becomes one of the available displays in the ones you can toggle through.

Also make sure the setting is enabled in GPS settings

Thanks for the information and it was the page up/page down that made all the difference as this altered the view within TTS to streetview. Rode one of my regular rides on the trainer last night and it was very realistic pace and feel although google was a bit jumpy in places probably down to computer processing power.
