i-Vortex T2168

Post by Kami » Wed Nov 05, 2014 5:52 pm

Hi all.

I purchased last year's i-Vortex model that my local shop had on display. It was a display model, and they couldn't find the box, but they told me the software could be accessed online, I would just have to register on their website. "They don't come with install discs anymore, you have to download the software."

Turns out, that's not true. We need the disc and the license key off the case.

This is my question: Was there a version of the i-Vortex that did not come with software? They gave me a good discount, but the discount was off of a price that claimed it included the software, so before I go back to the shop, I want to understand if they lost the disc, or if this is a different model than they thought claimed it was.

Thanks!

Both the legacy Bushido and Vortex were available as stand alone trainers which did not include any software since originally, Tacx marketed the Tacx Trainer Software (TTS) as part of a separate upgrade 'kit' which included an USB ANT+ stick, TTS disc, and license key.
TTS 4.19.1 | T2800 NEO Smart
MSI GS70 Laptop | Windows 10 x64 | Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2.40 GHz | 16 Gb DDR3 1600 MHz | GeForce GTX 870M
Samsung 32" LED TV

Are you sure it is T2168? I can't find that number anywhere.

Tacx calls the standalone models an Ergotrainer and as Michael indicates above, they do not come with software or an ANT+ stick.

However, if it is called the i-Vortex, then it should come with an ANT+ stick and software. (The "i" stands for Internet and means it connects to a PC.) So, you probably should complain to the dealer who sold it to you if they called it an i-Vortex. It probably came with the Basic (not Advanced) TTS4 software. And you must have an ANT+ usb stick to use it with a PC. You won't have any trouble downloading the current version, but you will need an authentication code to use it. The dealer should be able to get you one, but if you have a receipt, you could also send an email to support@tacx.com and see if they will give you one. You can also ask for a link to download the current software.

Sorry, you're right. It is the T2165. The brake unit is T1968. I got them mixed. :)

Well, the T2165 is the i-Vortex and you should have also received an ANT+ USB stick and a software code:
