Hello i wanna upgrade my excel and basic with the T1925 VR upgrade kit is this possible.
The shop were i wanna buy it says to me that is not possible.
Has it to do with the motor ! i have a T1601 motor on my Basic Excel.

Are you sure it isn't the T1901, which is the same brake that is used in the other Imagic/Flow trainers?

Best thing is to ask support@tacx.nl. Be sure you have the correct model number and serial number.

I could not find a reference to the T1601 brake anywhere. As said before, I would send an email to support@tacx.nl.

Hi there,

I also have an ancient Basic Excel T1601 ( probably 1999 vintage ). I've read a few contrasting accounts of whether i can upgrade to the VR kit. The Tacx Support guys say they suspect it isn't possible, but has anybody had any first hand experience ? It would be a shame to throw away a perfectly useful bit of kit. Many thanks in advance.

If it could be done, any kind of conversion from an older mechanical unit is unlikely to save you any money. The frame is my far the least expensive part of the unit.
