Buying advice: Ironman smart - hardware

Post by gabriel999 » Mon Jan 25, 2016 1:43 am

Hello,
Grateful if you can clarify the following, regarding Tacx Ironman smart T2060:

I want to connect the trainer to Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone (Android 5.0.1, blue tooth and micro USB available) and to PC (Windows 10, I7 processor, blue tooth and USB available).
Do I need to buy any other extra hardware (e.g. Ant+ dongle, Antenna, etc.) to fully connect Ironman Smart to Samsung S4 smartphone and PC?

Thank you,
G.

This model comes with everything you need to connect to the computer.
As for connectivity with smartphones, all smart trainers are able to connect to smartphones via Bluetooth.

Take a look at this useful comparison table:

Thanks for the answer.

Now I understand. But the "Ant+" protocol is so present in communication on the website, that it becomes misleading - I already bought an "ANT+" heart rate sensor and an ANT+ micro USB dongle for a smartphone. Both are useless... because the smartphone only communicates through buetooth...
A very small table for each smart trainer with regards to the communication protocols with the periferals (smartphone / tablet / PC / Apple) would clarify the topic much better than the marketing oriented presentations existing on the website...

Regards,
Gabriel
