Genius vs. Flux.

Post by Bad Santa » Sat Sep 09, 2017 9:20 am

Hi everyone,
I'm gonna buy a smart trainer and so far my choice is either for Genius or Flux. The 1st offer some attractive features like downhill sense and up to 20% of uphill, but reviews are not that optimistic. Folks face troubles connecting, complain on quality etc.

Flux is direct drive which is plus, lower noise level most probably and more precise. Earlier models I heard had some quality issues but looks like they have been resolved for now.

What would you recommend? Pros and cons?

I'm a mac user, so iPad and Apple TV, would stay away from PC and using a computer at all.

Thanks much in advance for your precious comments and advices, colleagues!

I will list here the two main drawbacks of Flux:

1) Flux is not suitable for a long cage derailleur. ... FLUX-Smart

2) The failure of any part of the Flux will lead to the need to replace the entire trainer. While spare parts for Genius are produced and freely sold.
