Bushido Smart and ERG mode

Post by runeo » Wed Dec 23, 2015 5:33 pm

Hi

I have tested my Bushido Smart with updated firmware to 3.1.13/3.1.4 and calibrating/Spindown before use.
110 psi in tacx tire. Gearing 34/21 on bike.
This was done with programming 3 minutes with each 50, 70, 90, 110 and 130 watt on
Trainerroad,
Zwift,
TTS 4.17.3
and my Ipads IOS Tacx App.

Same problem in each environment. 50 watt possible with around 60 cadence.
Trying with 90 cadence not possible until 110 watt then it regulates if I use 34/28 gearing but regulates around 10-15 watts to much.
Is the only possible use of the Bushido to use SIM mode or using slope in workouts?
/Rune who wishes everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Workouts.

If I understand correctly, you are not able to get the trainer resistance below certain power range at higher cadences? If that is the case, I might ask what slot is the motorbrake mounted in the position block as use of position 2 gives better contact with the roller but can inhibit the brakes ability to set lower resistance levels?

Hi

I am using position 3, as position 2 was to tight with the tacx trainer tire (680 mm). It was almost impossible to mount the wheel to the trainer.
For information, there where no problem to get the indication in the first 10 percent of the green calibration area or to the last 10 percent during calibration. Also no problem using slope mode, but as of now that means manual workouts. And I have programmed workouts with watt in TTS 4, TrainerRoad, Zwift and Tacx Ipad app.

It is almost usable, if I do the training in gearing 34/28. Then it will be around 97 watts at normal cadence when the programming says 80 watt. And like 105-110 watts when set to 100 watt.

Hi

Talked to my son tonight. Hi has the Bushido Smart, SRM and a WattBike.
The same problem in his Trainer. Low Cadence (60-70 cadence) for low wattage (90-100) at 39/21 gearing.

I can't understand the problem to have a decent low wattage regulating power!

Tried to use my bushido smart with trainer road this evening. I paired the speed/cadence sensors, the power meter, the ANT power as well. The various times I would start the programmed workout in ERG mode, I would start to cruise along, and then my tacx trainer would create such resistance to the point I could not rotate the pedals. I calibrated the spin down successfully. Updated all necessary software. I even un-paired everything, repaired them, and still the same thing. Frustrated as I could not do my 1:30 workout due to technical difficulties

@solson1222

Just tried TR with my Bushido and had the same scenario. 200+ watts was nearly impossible to pedal

Good move :) I should've done the research and stayed away from Tacx but fell for the branding they had, which was a stupid and frustrating move. Never again.
