How can I create a TTS file from a PGMF?

Post by brynwashere » Sun Jan 04, 2015 6:24 pm

I am using TTS 4.13.
I have a .AVI file and a .PGMF.
How can I create a .TTS file from a .PGMF so that I can use the .AVI and .TTS file as a Tacx film?

Lunicus hosts most of the official and some 3rd party .TTS files, but if you want to convert it yourself you will need an early version of TTS - v1 or v2 to import the pgmf file, thus creating a TTS file

TTS v3 also allows for import/conversion of PGMF files

Really wish that functionality had been persisted in v4 seeing as for those of us doing targeted training in Catalyst, it is much easier to use a spreadsheet to create new trainings and copy/paste the text into Carsten Jost's PGMF Converter to create PGMF files which are imported into TTS.

Not such big deal as TTS 3 & 4 can happily co-exist on same PC

Well of course, but that is twice the work to get a new training into TTS 4. :P

So your ok using 3rd party converter above then moving into TTS4 :?: , but importing into TTS3 then transferring file to TTS4 is to much work

I have only got TTS 4.
Is there somewhere where I can download TTS v1, 2, or 3?

Sure would be nice if Carsten Jost, the creator of the original PGMF Converter Utility, were around to create a new version for making Catalyst .TTS files.

Hi Lunicus,

I'm having a bit of trouble with creating a TTS film from other files.
I downloaded 3 files for a ride from Denia to Javea in Spain.
The files are all named ES_DENIA_JAVEA.xxx where 'xxx' is avi, pgmf, & rlv.
I obtained a version on TTS 3 from Tacx Support (thanks very much chaps) and tried to import these files.

The only import option that was able to view any of these files was the 'Catalyst Fortius -> TTS' option which picked up the PGMF.
This created a Catalyst TTS file, but this does not seem to be the same as a Tacx film that you can ride against and see the scenery as you ride.

Please can you help.

Thanks,
Bryn

Not 100% sure but I believe the last TTS version that could import the old video control files and convert them to .tts files was 2. Catalyst is that part of TTS that only displays data, no videos. So you either need some good soul with a very old TTS installation that still works or support from the vendor of those RLVs or maybe you can install the legacy Fortius software (runs on a 32 bit OS only) to run your trainer. These RLV files were used at the Fortius software's times.

You also may want to save all that hassle and check out newer Tacx RLVs. The video quality is so much better than that of such old stuff.

Resurrecting an old, old thread (apologies)... but given the day that's in it in the Vuelta, does anyone still have the referenced RealLifeVideo - Denia to Javea? On the torrent trackers, there's only 3 of us leechers on 27.8% maximum unfortunately. Cheers!
