TickrX (Bluetooth) not found

Post by tjdunnigan » Mon Jan 25, 2016 10:51 pm

I paired a Wahoo Tickr X Bluetooth/Ant belt to my iPad mini via Bluetooth. I verified in "Settings" on the iPad that it was paired.

However, In using the iOS Tacx app, when scanning for devices, the app did not find the belt.

The app did pair with my Vortex Smart brake (although it is fussy about that).

Based on my understanding of the differences in the various apps, the current version of the Tacx Cycling app for tablets (iOS/Android) is for use with ANT+ devices. From the App for tablets webpage:
The Tacx Cycling app is compatible with all Tacx Smart trainers. For use with Tacx ANT+ compatible trainers (i-Genius, i-Genius Multiplayer, Genius, Genius Multiplayer, i-Vortex, Vortex & Bushido) in combination with a Wahoo ANT+ dongle. The Tacx Cycling app is not compatible with the Garmin ANT+ dongle. The Bushido or Vortex handlebar computer and Genius handlebar interface are not required during use.
Conversely, App for smartphones:
Only Bluetooth® compatible.
Smartphones can only be connected to the Bushido for tablet or a Smart trainer via Bluetooth® Smart.
TTS 4.19.1 | T2800 NEO Smart [formerly Bushido & Fortius]
MSI GS70 Laptop | Windows 10 x64
Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2.40 GHz | 16 Gb DDR3 1600 MHz
GeForce GTX 870M | 256 GB SSD x 2 RAID 0 + 1 TB HDD

Thanks, it does suggest that, but since it pairs with the Vortex brake via Bluetooth, why not other Bluetooth devices?

This app could use some refinement.

Found this:

"It is only possible to connect a Bluetooth heart rate belt with the Tacx App. It is possible to connect an ANT heart rate belt when you are using the Wahoo ANT+ dongle for iPad, click here for the T2091. "

This week's iOS update (2/16) allows the app to find and connect to a Tickr Bluetooth HR belt.

Unfortunately, when using a workout, the signal rarely register. The HR graph showed intermittent spikes to actual HR, but 99.9% of the time registered 2-3 bpm.

Same is happening to me. Can't find a way to fix it. It shows the heat rate symbol as connected but it randomly shows the heartbeat. On my last workout, the peak heart rate was 168, but the average was only 5 (FIVE) BPM!!!!!!!!!!

Still, after another App update, I have the same problem.

Today, I tested the Wahoo TickrX against the Tacx app on an iPad, 5bpm.

Closed the Tacx app and opened a Wahoo app, 115 bpm.

Closed the Wahoo app and opened the Tacx app, 5bpm.

I would purchase some Tacx courses (video), but will not when I cannot record heart rate with the ride.

Have you reported this to Tacx Support? If you do they can report it back to the development team for fixing.

It seems there is something weird with the readings as you show by connecting it to another app and it shows correct BPM but if you connect it to the TRAINING app or the CYCLING app it both shows 5 BPM.

You can refer to my name(Tom aka Lunatix) also if you send the report to support.

Thanks, I have not, but will.

I don't see a link on Tacx.com, however.

It's support@tacx.com - Regular email. Make sure once you send it you should immediatly get an Auto reply. If you did NOT receive this something went wrong.

I use the same belt with success. However I have issues if the belt is also paired with other devices.

You cannot use bluetooth in multiple connection state. One connection only for bluetooth.

So for you, Clucking, the TickrX belt works in the TCA?
