FTP Workout on Blue Motion+Cadence Sensor+App

I've created a FTP workout with several segments at a set percentage of my current FTP. Now if I start said workout on the app it correctly shows the target wattage, cadence and speed. The current wattage is displayed yet it does not allow me to set a lever position (like in Power Training). So I'm kind of wondering how the App calculates the actual power output.
Am I missing something here, or is this kind of training simply not possible on my setup?
