Detailed List of Films for Tacx App?

Post by gstev68 » Tue Dec 30, 2014 7:54 pm

Is there anywhere that lists all the films with full details such as length, elevation, gradients, etc.

A sortable list would be ideal, as would a pictorial view of the course profile. Ideally it would be in the App but it isn't as far as I can see.

I'm loving my new Vortex Smart and have taken a punt on a couple of films at £7.49 each but would like to see a bit more detail on each before buying more as I don't have much space on my ipad.

Not all of the descriptions say how long they are or what the course profile is like. I know they are supposed to be all about 30k however, the ones I've downloaded so far are 26k and 56k.

I can see one is described as 40k and very difficult but I'd like to find one that's about 40k and not too hard to begin with.

Thanks

Check out my little RLV website below in my sig it has detailed maps & profiles of every IOS film I've filmed in the last 20 months. You can also visit www.tacx.com click films - click any ride to skip past the complicated menu thing & select "short rides" these are all PC based versions of the IOS rides. I'm sure eventually the IOS/Android webshop will display route profiles & maps also but it will take time.

If you just open the Tacx Cycling app on any platform and just go to the shop you'll see all available movies.

I think he must have seen the shop as he purchased two rides, but then also asks for the shop location? I think he wants more info about the rides like where the steepest grades are, height meters to climb etc.

New customers for sure need to go to the shop when they click the big video button...

[it's] all stuff that can be done with a excel spread sheet in a few clicks.
Exactly: how hard could it be for TACX to include this basic info in the summary of a video before purchasing, given that the same info appears in the summary after purchase? They could replace part of the very verbose description with some basic data: length, max slope. min slope, avg slope, difficulty level (just a few movies say "very hard/difficult").
Why should the App customer go to the website to see the details if the shop is within the app itself.
Another disappointing point of a clearly faulty software. If TACX does not want to invest in the Cycling App it should open the trainer to communication with other, better third party software.

To show more information in the Tacx cycling app isn't that "easy". But i can tell you it's on our list of improvements that need to be done.

Thanks for the answer.
The data displayed on the summary table of the purchased movies would be enough to show on the summary BEFORE the purchase. Is this not easy? Come on!
If it is complicated, then just add a couple of text fields to the description of the video: how hard can THIS be?
If there is a will there is a way.
Good that you are planning on doing something to correct also this weakness but TACX seems to be infamous for having a slow and unreliable delivery.

How Tacx wants us to do it isn't that easy. Just adding fields is of course not that hard.. :-) But they want it differently. I cannot get into details tho.

As they say: better is the enemy of good. I appreciate they want to do it in a great way but
1) they could have chosen to have a minimum amount of information to begin with, and
2) by the time they do it, I will probably have returned my Bushido (one week to go) and opted for a trainer with less bugs and access to larger and more diversified library of videos and workouts. No options are cheap there, but neither is the Bushido.
Thanks for your answers.

So, 6 months later and still very little information on the videos....any news?

Ive seen whats on the way via a presentation tacx made for its distributors a couple of weeks ago & it should be worth the wait. But in the meantime this link to my little showcase page has all the details of the recent collection http://tacxreallifevideo.com/category/ios/

It wouldn't hurt for Tacx to put a list of available films and profile info etc on there website where the TacxCyclingApp is being promoted and available for download, if prospective customer saw list then would be mlre likely want to download TDA and subscribe..
i7-950 Processor (4cores 3.06 GHz)
2xBIOS settings 1 overclocked to 4.3ghz
6G RAM dominator 1600Mhz

This is a thread from 3 years ago for the IOS app? The problem with a list right now is that the list is growing by the month at a fast rate. Just now all that ride data & ride images comes from the cloud so I guess what is needed is a web-based way to access the same data that is available inside TDA.. best of all though is to just install TDA..it takes no space & its there in less then 5seconds on your desktop... Some really good screenshots, a map of all our locations & a few reviews from some top pro riders should be enough to get most to try it. They have a map in development...screenshots is doable....we just need some really good reviews,
