I was determined to start all over when the third bout of flu this season hit me. After that I knew I could not finish another RDGA prior to our spring holiday, so I rode some other newer arrivals from Phil. Let's see how the weather will be afterwards, it will be either riding outside finally or RDGA again. Curious whether someone else will still be riding then...
Happy RDGA to those on the road!

I have changed the settings of our Google RdGA map (http://goo.gl/rA6Ut) to

“Collaborators may invite others”

So if you are already a member of the elite (collaborators) riders and you know a friend who is not afraid for a few hills send him/her an invitation. Or if you want to join us send one of us (see this thread) a mail

ps
Because still nice home trainer weather in NW Europe, almost finished the first part (second round)
I thought of that while riding my bike.

Thanks Martin, and thanks for your help in getting me started.

I started off well, but I have been held up a bit beta testing the last week or so. After tonight I will do a few rides again on RDGA1.

LOL, cough, splutter, grimace......
Seems like there are a number who have had 2 or more bouts of flu.
I too have had 3 stints since Late August, never known anything like it.
What sports/electrolite drinks do you use when on the trainer? Maybe there is some connection?
Malfukt has also been sounding like an old Ford A4 climbing the Izoard ;-) or is it the Iz'Ard, or the Iz-reet-ard?

I taught I could catch up with you. Weather forecasts for the coming weeks: no significant change so a good reason to do the RdGA for the second time. There are so many details to watch, it still gives me the idea I ride this one for the first time. Btw three beers a day keeps the doctor away

So does a few glasses of Genepi, if not available Green Chartreuse is an excellent substitute.

Phew! I have just finished the RDGA1 ride into Briancon. Fantastic.

I plan to start riding the RDGA2 on Tuesday 2nd April about 20.00 GMT/Dublin time.

Thanks Phil for a brilliant experience.

You seem to have had a pretty rough time Mal, what on earth has been wrong to end up in hospital? No need to say, I just want to wish you all the best for a speedy recovery. Doug

Get well soon to malfukt!
David G wrote:What sports/electrolite drinks do you use when on the trainer? Maybe there is some connection?
 Plain water. I used the electrolyte drinks when that last flu virus acting on the respiratory system gave over to another virus active, er, sort of one floor below. Not an uncommon swap this uncommon flu season, says our public health office.

:o Hope it's nothing serious (eg RDGA1?) and you're back on your bike soon.
(clearly not enough to keep you off the forum :) )

Unfortunately the €200 for RDGA1,2,3 a bit much for me just now, got a few other DVDs to get through yet, else I'd love to be riding there with you guys.

Snap! Me too. I see that you have stopped in Bourg St Maurice, I actually stopped about 6km out of town (time was strictly limited this morning). How about meeting up at the Macdonalds in town for a couple of Mac Croques and a refreshing 1664 or two? Then you can pace me up the Roselend. I see that Fraz and David are not far behind, I look forward to seeing both of you as you pass me - as you undoubtedly will! Best wishes to all - and especially Phil who seems to be caught in Belgium right now.

Fantastic! I have used this as a place to check on my bank account, send and recieve emails and so on on a number of occasions. I will be on my way about 5 or 6 am Thursday (NZ time), that is about 7 or 8 pm CET Wednesday? If I miss you there is a nice little icecream bar on the main street in Beaufort. One way or another I'll see you?!
