GE map files

Post by Edgarini » Mon Dec 05, 2011 7:07 am

**************NOTE**************
The "Datafilehost" download site has added an obnoxious default-checked "Use our download manager and get recommended downloads" option. Be sure to de-select it before downloading to avoid it's unwanted installation.
********************************

Comprehensive collection of GE mapped files in kmz (compressed) format, sorted by Tacx# are here (updated 9/26/12**). Big thanks to Sigfreid who did most of these....not to mention the comfort of knowing I'm not the only one afflicted w/ RMD (RLV mapping disorder) :? .

**Paris, Rome, Amstel Gold and more refined RdGA1 added

Good lord lad...you need help! Master file has been updated. That Elba route looks sweet. Might just have to pick it up despite that I have a whole bunch of Flanders and half of San Sebastian still to do.

Guys I just given out a request to anyone suffering with a really bad case of RMD to map Switzerland from left to right! Your going to need streetveiw & some googling...maybe end it on the Italy border as I've only a 4-500km limit. It could include the south side of the Gottard pass but also head more north for the lakes & easy valleys! --- then Italy or Austria!

Relatively painlessly. The only hic up was that for some reason my license was not released despite that I ran "Transfer License" before reinstalling. Tacx was very prompt about resetting it, though.

OK Phil - nice challenge!

How about the Route du Rhone, in reverse - going from Geneva to Andermat (from there Edgarini can do the Gottard Pass!)

Here is a Kml that is mostly available as street view - does the whole route need to be street viiew? This path includes some bike-only sections which can be edited out and roads substituted if need be. Looking at some of the sections of the street view, especially through Geneva - it is pretty nice stuff.

Wow it would give you over 100miles of flat to very slight uphill, but I would hang a right just before the main climb starts & poodle over the Nufenen pass so you can do the Gotthard from the cool side with 14km of cobbles! then by the time we over the Gotthard we should have 200km hmmm Thats a great start & would make this ride a great thing to own for all riders with the endless valley & incredible mountain views....The Gotthard as the big name Swiss climb & a nice warm up before it...I need options for after this. Im at about 1.5days of filming here...its not enough, I need more!!! (bangs fist on the table) we could make a break for the Austrian border over the steady 2000m Oberalp or head north to the lake Lucerne (stunning)...

OK Phil

I did some more digging there is a Swiss National Bike Route that goes along almost every lake in the central part of Switzerland:

Here is a Kml of the proposed "Swiss Lakes Route" (only part of the total route - but probably a nice distance for you? Some nice little climbs in there as well.

That's a great route we got two nice choices now to make before June. I'm going to film part 2 to lake Geneva, part 3 Switzerland maybe for another year but it's a freaking nice way to keep going with it! The mother of all RLVs will be over 1000km long!
