wattage on tacx 135 watts lower than real wattage outside

Post by gabri » Wed May 27, 2009 4:23 pm

Hey I trained since december on the tacx, training countless steep climbs it brought me from 3,9 /watt kilo to 5,45 / watt kilo in only 5 months an astonishing improvement as I say..

Well the point now is that I can only average 240 watt on the tacx and can actually average 375 watt on long climbs outside.

What is going on there ? the tacx is calibrated at 0,3 and scale factor 100.

How do you measure wattage outside?
Some units relate wattage to speed, essentially giving too high a number when going downhill.
What do you average on a flat time trial course on each unit?
