Brake adjustment settings on i-magic

Post by rama » Thu Mar 06, 2008 11:41 am

Hi, I am the new owner of a used i-magic and have trouble selecting the right settings for the "up" and "down" brake adjustment. I suspect the owner's manual is pretty useless on that issue.
The setting may vary between 5 and 250, and sets the speed at which the system adjusts its motor resistance to a change in the pre-programmed heart-rate goal.
I need the system to adjust upwards relatively fast. I have found that a setting of around 210 on the "up" box does the trick. But I also need the system to adjust downwards very fast. I have so far failed to make the system respond to my heart-rate goal by easing the pedal.
Can anyone recommend what the best settings are?
Thanks in advance
Angelos

I used imagic for 2 years but cant think which setting you mean.

There is a scale factor which for competition on VCF leagues is set to 100, is this what you refer to. ?

According to manual, lower settings provide quicker brake response.

No, not the "Scale Factor" which should be set between 80% and 120% (with 105-110% being the most realistic figure).
I am referring to the "Brake Adjustment" settings (separate for Up and Down) which control the speed at which the motor adjusts its resistance to simulate changes in heart rate targets.

Martin, don't even bother about it. It has nothing to do with racing, VCF etc. It is a kind of Catalyst training based on HR. Everything is explained in manual anyway.
