Low power reports in Tacx trainers

Post by Profjmb » Sun Jan 14, 2018 4:47 am

There seem to be threads about this both for the Neo and for other trainers. I have a Stages PM and it shows about 50-60 watts higher than my Vortex Smart. I rode my Vortex last year without Stages and didn’t notice a problem. (Of course I didn’t check against a PM but would have noticed.)

I can use my Stages as my PM in TrainerRoad but this bothers me.

Any suggestions?

I think there are reports all over the map of the Tacx brakes reporting either too low or too high. There are probably a wide range of factors that could account for this, but part of it is expecting an unrealistically high level of accuracy, which is why you need a good power meter if this is important.
