Bought Vortex Smart and used it today for first time. I imediately upgraded firmware (usually its what you're supposed to do) to 3.1.22/0.4.1. and can confirm that i'm geting 115w at 30km/h in dashboard. So unless we're all having same hardware fault its firmware that changed power profile.

A 10% reduction would definitely put the numbers from my Vortex more in line with my PowerTap C1. I hope it does in fact because ERG mode in Zwift isn't great when using a power meter + smart trainer together.

Working through Jon's Short Mix on Zwift in ERG mode today, first with the PowerTap C1 measuring power, then with the Tacx Vortex measuring power a couple hours later it still reads high (201w vs 212w respectively). This is well within the given accuracy range for the devices however.

And yes, I experience the same. Wheel can skip from time to time.
Personally, I'm more concern about the responsiveness of the lasts firmware.
Now, I always miss the start of the races in Zwift since I upgraded my unit.
My avatar stays in at the gate several seconds before moving despite me pushing already a lot on my bike.
And I see the bunch moving forward and can't follow.
Respond to an attack or sprinting is then almost impossible, I'm always 3-4seconds too late.
It's really frustrating.

I think they reduced the pressure on the wheel to get rid of the metal sleeve noise issue.
And they increase the sampling time for Watt calculation for better accuracy but at the cost of responsiveness.

A friend of mine has also a Vortex and she didn't flash her unit. The firmware is from factory.
I will borrow it and compare the watts (I've got a Rotor InPower as well) such at responsiveness.

Maybe some1 experienced the same: When I calibrate in Tacx utility I get 115w at 30km/h. Then I calibrate in TrainerRoad and get 88w for same 30km/h. Why this difference and which one is correct?

To estimate the ratio speed/power, use the bike calculator:
