Bkool Smart Pro and TTS4 advanced?

Post by whiskywheels » Tue Dec 22, 2015 6:38 pm

I have the loan of a Bkool smart pro, and have connected up to TTS4.

It looks like it's recognised the ANT+ protocol, and gives me every function except resistance/braking.

Am I missing something, or is there simply no way that TTS4 will control the resistance/braking on a Bkool?

For TTS4, the Smart trainers like Kickr and Bkool are controllable via the ANT+ FE-C protocol, which I think was rolled out beginning with TTS 4.17.x and newer. I have read a couple posts about others trying to use a Wahoo Kickr with TTS and having similar issues with resistance, so it might be a good idea to fire off an email outlining the issue to support@tacx.com.

While I'm waiting to hear back from Tacx and Bkool about this, I'd be interested to hear from anyone who knows if this software/hardware combination can offer resistance/braking on the pro.
(I've only got the loan of the pro over the Christmas holidays)

In case it's of interest to anyone, TTS4 will not send resistance/braking messages (although it'll pick up everything else) to the Bkool Smart Pro. Or for that matter, to Tacx's own Sartori trainer amongst others.
Bkool trainer is fully functioning with Bkool simulator, veloreality, zwift, and trainer road, but not TTS4.
I could say 'typical', but I wouldn't stoop so low.

Hey - besides room for improvement, incidentally you have found something that TTS does correctly - the Satori brake resistance is controlled mechanically by cable and lever! :D
