Cycle force flow upgrade

Post by marcsa » Fri Aug 18, 2017 3:14 pm

Hi

I have an older TACX Flow cycleforce trainer - its the one with the orange letters and head unit. The brake unit is a T1901 and the head has T1682 model number on it.

Is there an upgrade for this trainer - like the T1925 upgrade kit - will it work ?

I'm not really looking for the full VR video setup, but more to have it connected to a laptop or tablet so i can view the current data on screen and possible save it.

any feedback will be appreciated

Tablet? Only if the tablet on Windows and has the USB-port.

I believe the T1901 imagic brake is 220 volt. You should be able to use the T1901 with a T1902 yellow VR USB interface with TTS4, but only on a 32-bit Windows operating system. I think you can also use the other Tacx USB interfaces (T1942 blue, T1932 white with blue ring, T1904 white with yellow ring) with the T1901 under TTS4 and those controllers will work on both a Windows 32-bit and a Windows 64-bit OS.

If you happen to have a Windows 32-bit OS is you can use the T1901 and T1902 with the older, pre-TTS Fortius software (which is free), which will run many different older videos, many of which are of very good quality. Here is a link with additional information:

Thanks for the feed back, from trolling through all the threads in these forums it certainly seems that the initial offering of the T1925 upgrade did not go well, most of the problems reported are from back in 2008 & 2010.
Have these bugs all been fixed by now ?

Does anyone have the instructions on how to set up the upgrade kit with the flow, I would really like to read up on whats all involved.

Also does anyone know if its possible to program your own training sessions with the upgrade so for example
I have a current training session based on power

5 min at 150 W
1 min at 200 w
etc etc

currently i simply change the watts on the head unit manually - with the upgrade kit, can you program the unit to change the watts automatically ?
