Re: New Genius Smart Jerky Operation

A trainer tire shouldn't make much difference in feel or slippage. It's more to save wear on an expensive race tire. With the right tire pressure and adjustment of the roller against the tire, it won't slip. Here's what DC Rainmaker says about trainer tires (he's been testing all kinds of trainers f...

Re: Virtual speed

Hi, I'm trying again...I'm still running 4.10, and it seems to be still working okay with RLVs and Catalyst which is what I'm mostly using, except that the videos aren't very smooth. (I have a computer capable of playing 4k videos smoothly.) In this version there is no Virtual Speed, that was introd...

Re: Neo FAQ

Thanks, just what I expected. Completely ridiculous to even suggest that I should buy a replacement for the Blacktrack if I replace my Genius with a Neo or Flux, when it's just a matter of finding a way to secure under the front wheel.

Re: Tacx T2015 Speed and Cadence Sensor not bonding

Has the problems with the T2015 been sorted out? I'm not talking about using it with the Taxc Cycling App, but the general pairing problems.

Re: Virtual speed

Which is the latest version before these Virtual Speed and Brake problems were introduced? I haven't used my trainer in a long while, and still have 4.10.0.0 installed on my PC, which was running pretty smooth on RLVs the last time I used it. I don't want to update into a lot of smoothness problems ...

Thanks, mcorn, I'll send Tacx support a mail to confirm whether the 304 firmware is needed on my European unit.

Re: new brake software 1.1.307

So I finally took the plunge and upgraded my Genius firmware. Have been running on 1.1.23 since I bought it. Upgraded to 1.1.273 this morning, and it went fine, but now it says it's no more upgrades. What about 1.1.304 that's supposed to fix the fuse blowing issue in 1.1.273 on some units? Is that t...

Re: Poll: Did you have problems updating your Genius firmwar

Okay, I'll probably give it a shot. Does the brake firmware have to be updated incrementally like TTS, or can I just go straight to the newest version and skip the ones in between?

I see there's another new version now, 1.1.304. Anyone tried that?

Poll: Did you have problems updating your Genius firmware?

Hi, At the time TTS 4.5 was released there was also a new firmware update for the Genius brake. I'd like to update, but I've seen so many on these boards end up with a non-responding unit and a lot of problems. I do not want to spend 2-3 hours or even more to search for problem solutions and try thi...

I also had some problems getting my Genius dialled in in the beginning. Using the blue Tacx Trainer Tire and position 3, the calibration value I got was too low, and trying to tighten the roller the knob would actually fall off before I could get it tight enough, meaning the bolt was too short. Usin...

Okay, did a bit more research and it appears the above numbers is for the smartphone market. iPad still has the edge in the tablet market, but predictions based on the smartphone market timeline are that there's only a matter of time before Android is ahead there too. Anyway, with Sony Ericsson phon...

I'm running 4.1 and the calibration works, but it doesn't get saved, so I had to do it every time I start the software when the controller was mounted on the stem. So I mounted it on the handlebars (the light in the top left corner) and now I don't have to calibrate. Anyway I hope they correct the s...

I'm now using my Genius with my new road bike, so obviously I had to get a new tyre, since my other bike is a mountain bike. The new tyre left a fair amount of rubber on the roller in the beginning, but I haven't cleaned it at all so far. It seems to me that the roller will slip less if it's a littl...

The calibration is pretty straightforward. just press the start calibration button on the screen, then start pedaling until it says stop pedaling on the screen. Then after the wheel spinning for a few seconds you get a numeric result which should be somewhere around 0. The tire pressure should be ab...

I've tried some more with the USB stick on an extension cable hanging over the handlebars and it still disconnects randomly. It seems that if I notice it right away and turn the controller back on within a few seconds after disconnect, it reconnects. The problem is, there's no alert on screen tellin...
