Re: Genius Smart clicking noise

The clicking usually disappeared after a while. I therefore never really attempted to look for a cause, but I believe it has to do with brake temperature and speed. That's interesting. The loud clicking appears at simulated speeds below 20 km/h, after the warm up, and disappears above 20 km/h. The ...

Re: Genius Smart T2080 with 9 cassette

I find some info that T2080 will work with 10 i 11 speed cassette. But will there by any problem if I will be usuing 9 speed cassette ? Technically, no problem at all. However, the bike might not be properly centered on the trainer, thus, you might need some spacers to place between the wheel locke...

Genius Smart clicking noise

I have just entered into the (large) pool of users who encounter "clicking noise" on Genius Smart (or Ironman - the same with Genius Smart). There are plenty of videos on the web showing the issue. It happened to me after equivalent of (roughly) 1500 km usage. Many users say that the issue is the po...

Use of bike brake on Genius / ironman

Hello, I wonder if I may use bike brake on a Ironman / Genius trainer without damaging the unit, in order to simulate braking for an "U" turn, immediately after a descent. It would be useful to simulate multi laps ("criterium"). Alternatively, is there any option available in TTS4 Advanced to simula...

Re: Tacx Ironman smart - Genius 2080 not compatible with BKO

Yes, BKOOL should control the trainer. Another idea would be that Tacx creates a platform where they share their high quality RLVs to all customers over the internet (maybe at a lower resolution, to fit internet speeds), for a monthly fee. They could preserve the actual channel of selling RLVs, for ...

Re: Tacx Ironman smart - Genius 2080 not compatible with BKO

In fact, it’s very simple: Genius / Ironman is not compatible with BKOOL, although both Tacx and BKOOL advertise it as being compatible. As a customer, I don’t buy ANTs, Beetles or whatever insects :) or resistance curves. I buy a product for its advertised functionalities such as “The following sof...

Re: Tacx Ironman smart - Genius 2080 not compatible with BKO

I'm sure that many will go that route (Tacx RLV). But their advertisement is highly misleading and makes the buyer to pay for what they don't offer in reality. The almost 200 EUR software and Google map licence is declared to offer "Virtual Reality in High 3D, Create your own routes, Gameplay with o...

Re: Tacx Ironman smart - Genius 2080 not compatible with BKO

I come back with an example: I completed a 31 km map on BKOOL with 268 m elevation - which means an average gradient of around 0.85% . The average speed was 36.5 km/h (!!!). I used the 50/12 gear ratio for about 50% of the map, or maybe more. I could easily use 53/11 a number of times, if I had it a...

Re: Tacx Ironman smart - Genius 2080 not compatible with BKO

Not sure why BKool doesn't control the brake. Is the brake properly connected as an ANT FE-C? Yes, it is connected. Tacx software TTS4 applies reasonable resistance to ironman (although not perfect). Zwift applies almost reasonable resistance to Ironman, if Zwift is set to 100% instead of default 5...

Re: Tacx Ironman smart - Genius 2080 not compatible with BKO

Perhaps it's the latter fact that BKool don't know. Yes, it might be. I also told them. But what I can feel now is that I recently bought a Tacx Ironman smart that has a label genius T2080, and that receives inssuficient brake on Bkool (easy to keep over 55 km/h on flat maps, on long run). BKOOL ga...

Tacx Ironman smart - Genius 2080 not compatible with BKOOL!

Hello, I made a request to BKOOL support related to the fact that the brake applied to my Tacks ironman smart when connected to BKOOL is insufficient. The answer from BKOOL team was very clear: "The Tacx Ironman is not supported, we are sorry, hence the difference in the power/speed readings and the...

Re: Genius 2080 versus Ironman 2060

As far as I know they are the same brake unit, just packaged up differently. I recently had my Ironman updated to Smart by Tacx. The replacement brake sent to me was a Genius with a blue end cap, like you pointed out the Ironman has black ones. Thanks. I'm just curious: what is there written on the...

Genius 2080 versus Ironman 2060

Hello, Grateful if anybody can explain the difference: 1. Genius Smart is labeled T2080, has blue caps, blue lever, Tacx logo is blue and "Genius" is typed on the brake. https://www.tacx.com/en/products/trainers/genius-smart 2. Ironman Smart is labeled T2060, has black caps, black lever, Tacx logo i...

Tacx Ironman Smart - compatibility issue

Hello, As a result of deep functional issues with my TTS4 and Cursor Control device, I want to use Tacx ironman Smart on BKOOL platform. I understandthat Ironman hardware is the same with Genius smart. However, the brake applied by Ironman on BKOOL platform is highly unrealistic. I can easily "ride"...

Re: Bkool

Hello, With Tacx Ironman Smart I can easily "ride" on BKOOL with at least 55 km/h on flats and with 40-45 km/h on 1.5 - 2% slopes. I'm sure that if I change my max. bike gear from 50x12 to 53x11, I can make Ironman trainer to take-off on BKOOL. I had to stop using BKOOL application to avoid useless ...

Re: Buying advice: Ironman smart - hardware

Thanks for the answer. Now I understand. But the "Ant+" protocol is so present in communication on the website, that it becomes misleading - I already bought an "ANT+" heart rate sensor and an ANT+ micro USB dongle for a smartphone. Both are useless... because the smartphone only communicates throug...

Buying advice: Ironman smart - hardware

Hello, Grateful if you can clarify the following, regarding Tacx Ironman smart T2060: I want to connect the trainer to Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone (Android 5.0.1, blue tooth and micro USB available) and to PC (Windows 10, I7 processor, blue tooth and USB available). Do I need to buy any other extra...
