Re: Tacx Neo 2 - first impression

The user replaced the Genius Smart with Neo2, and you tell him about the problems of USB Bluetooth transmitters. That's obviously not the point. The OP did mention issues with bluetooth which I took the track as possibly being the cause for the cadence dropots, therefore my answer was based on the ...

Re: Tacx Neo 2 - first impression

Some have reported issues using their computers embedded blue tooth controllers for which the most discussed workaround was to purchase a 3rd party USB Bluetooth receiver. Regardless of whether using the embedded or an external receiver, it is important to disable power management for USB and Blueto...

Re: List of compatible Trainers

I am happy with TTS 4 but when they stop supporting it in March I am concerned that a Windows update will break it and that will be that. While not a small undertaking, I would suggest that those with this concern, create a windows virtual machine (VM) on their computer, install Windows 10 on the V...

Re: Tacx Neo 2 & Garmin Edge 1000 Speed Sensor

It would be interesting to check whether the edge offers a wheel size menu item for the Neo when connected as speed sensor. In my experience, neither our old Garmin Edge 520 nor the new Edge 1030 computers detect a stand-alone ANT+ speed sensor for the Neo. I can connect either by specifying the Ed...

Re: Tacx Neo 2 & Garmin Edge 1000 Speed Sensor

How do you program wheel circumference for Neo speed? Set the Garmin to use the numeric value for the tire size in use on the bike mounted on the trainer (usually 700x25). Honestly on the trainer, I have always been more concerned with accurate power output and so I have always assumed that when it...

Re: Tacx Neo 2 & Garmin Edge 1000 Speed Sensor

Does the Neo have a built in speed sensor which will connect to the Edge1000 Short answer, yes, the Neo outputs ANT+ power, speed, and cadence. We have used our Neos first with Garmin Edge 520 and now Edge 1030 computers so you should and have no issues connecting your Edge 1000 to the Neo's combin...

In Russia, for example, the Putin regime can at any time block any IP address without warning for an indefinite period.
I don't think you should be posting things like that in public forums. Now we are both probably on the NSA's radar.

TDA is cloud based, therefore no 'servers' that Tacx directly control/maintain.

Probably a low priority as the Tacx Desktop App is currently the only trainer app available in the Microsoft Store, thus, developed under Microsoft's Universal Windows Platform.

they insist on throwing away a good package. Agreed. Of course it is probably easier to attract a completely new user base to the Tacx Desktop App where the subscription model will offer a more sustainable revenue stream, than to get those of us in the TTS crowd to move to the subscription model in...

Just got this from Tacx: Important notice! TTS 4 will no longer be supported We introduced the TTS 4 software in 2011, which opened new doors to indoor cycling. Lots of enthusiast cyclists enjoyed the new possibilities with their bike trainers during the past years. But meanwhile the world has chang...

Re: neo 2 and TTS4

The Neo/Neo 2 use the same ANT+FE-C protocol to connect to TTS, just search for it in device manager, connect, then ride. Just a side note, while the Neo 2 will work just fine with the latest version of TTS 4, but you will need teh Tacx Desktop App in order to take advantage of the Neo 2's advanced ...

Re: TDA on XBox One X ?

Not really an answer, but from the question/answer below, I am guessing answer would be no. If the Xbox One X runs on Windows 10, can it run PC apps? No, not in the way you’re thinking. The Xbox One has three operating systems in it. One of them is Windows 10, but it’s not a turnkey version of Windo...

Re: Flux axle problem

so basically you can’t use these bikes in any off wheel trainer as the drivetrain won’t line up. Not sure if something is being lost in translation here as everything I have read and images I have viewed indicate that despite Specialized terminology, the wheel uses a 135 mm thru axle with the cavea...

My bike is a spesh roubaix disc but I can’t get the thing aligned in the trainer.
Your bike has a 135mm thru-axle in the rear, therefore you will also need a T2840 Direct drive quick release with adapter set 135x10mm.

Re: Tacx Neo or Bushido

While it is nearly twice the price, from my perspective it was definitely worth the upgrade. No more messing about trying to adjust friction to get the calibration right. The Neo requires no 'warmup', nor does it suffer from drift down of power over the course of a long workout like many rear wheel ...
