Re: Calibrating my 'new' Ironman 2050 - problem

If you don't hear the brake unit 'aligning' or the brake doesn't react when calibrating then do as Alex suggested. I had an Ironman that did exactly the same thing. Tacx couldn't work out what the problem was and how to solve it. In the end I removed the electronic unit and disconnected the multi-pl...

Have you raised this with Tacx support? If so and there is a problem they hopefully will roll out another firmware update for all.

Re: TDA GPS rides

You can ride GPS on the Tacx Training App. You need to login to your Tacx Cloud and in the left hand pane select 'Create Workout'. You can then import a gpx file into the Tacx Cloud (having created one using mapping software or downloaded ride data). You can then smooth the gps data (three options a...

Re: TDA Go Live this week

I agree. Some of the older TTS videos that I bought are looking a little dated now. When you compare them to the new releases they are light years apart. To replace the older videos with new would cost a fortune. I'm fully behind the subscription option, for me it's more cost effective and gives me ...

Re: TDA Go Live next week

I have to agree. I swapped my Vortex for a Genius. I then upgraded my Genius to a smart when Tacx first offered the upgrade on this forum. The Genius is a super trainer but limited by the tyre on the roller. I decided on a new direct drive trainer and after reading all the reviews stumped for the Ne...

Re: TDA Go Live next week

I think that you could pick fault with anything that isn't your cup of tea. I used to ride Zwift but despise the thing now. That comment would upset the whole of the Zwift community but at the end of the day I have the choice whether to subscribe or not. I respect what other people think about appli...

Re: Neo watt error

If you open the email up on your phone/tablet and click on the attached firmware file attachment it should open in the Tacx Utilty App. If you then having connected your trainer to the app choose update you will have the option to update to the 'older' firmware. Firmware 0.7.3 seems to work better t...

Re: Neo power compared to Genius

Yes, I used the link supplied by Alex on the other thread and opened it using the app. I used 0.7.3 as I couldn’t get 0.7.5 to work/open.

Re: Neo power compared to Genius

I have rolled back the firmware and the power recording on the Neo has returned to something normal and in line with the Genius. No longer have to bust blood vessels to achieve results that were easily achievable on the Genius.

Re: Neo power compared to Genius

Don't get me wrong the Neo is a brilliant piece of kit but I just felt a little disappointed about the difference in effort I have to put in to achieve the same power levels and ultimately my perceived performance. Alas, it's not the end of the world and I haven't lost any fitness :D

Neo power compared to Genius

I have just bought a Neo to replace my I-Genius. Having used my Genius on Zwift, TTS, Veloreality and all the Tacx Apps I'm quite happy to pedal around at 240 -260w without many problems. The Neo is a complete kettle of fish, I know that it is supposed to be more accurate at power recording but achi...

Re: Left rear stay touching NEO on BMC

You might have bought it brand new but it could still be a 2016 model. I bought a new Neo just before New Year and it is a 2016 model. I'm led to believe that if you look on the serial number on your Neo box, if you see - 'W' 2017 - printed on the sticker that denotes that it's a 2017 model. See: ht...

I have an ageing i7 that must be pushing 8-9 years old and it runs TDA wihout any problems whatsoever. The video is completely smooth compared to TTS4 and is always in sync.

Re: genius (ironman)inertia issues

Can you hear the brake initialize when you turn it on (a short buzzing noise and the tyre roller moves slightly)? Do you feel any varied resistance at all or does it appear to be dead only offering the natural resistance of the tyre roller? I've had an Ironman smart since they were released and foun...

Re: Genius cadence/speed sensor

I don't think the new Garmin sensors are compatable. Even with Garmin GPS the new sensors only work with the newer Edges and not the older versions. I would either buy a GSC10 sensor or another sensor from a different company.

My Ironman started emitting a noise not dissimilar to your Genius. Technically they are the same. I ended up having to send mine back for a replacement - one of the bearing's had failed

Re: Noisy Genius & getting noisier! Advice??

Thanks, I have packed my brake unit up ready to be shipped back to Germany for repair. I sent Tacx a video of the brake unit in operation and the noise it makes and they emailed me to say it didn't sound good at all. Luckily the shop where I bought it supply labels for free postage!

Re: Noisy Genius & getting noisier! Advice??

My Ironman is 9 months old. It used to run very quietly but now once its warmed up its noticeably noisier. I can't see anything obvious causing this problem but used the 'epoxy fix' on my Vortex a few years ago as the metal sleeve on the roller c'clicked' when I pressed down on it. Is my Ironman goi...
