One detail that would be nice, would be the ability to link to a specific ride, like here: http://www.tacx.com/en/experience/bikenet/gps-trainings?activeId=16573&ids=16702%2C16678%2C16677%2C16573%2C15481%2C16223 So that you can send or post that specific ride, instead of having to search the full li...

TTS crashes on upload to bikenet after move of Tacxvr.com

With the new Tacx website the Bikenet races have changed. Now I am no longer able to upload, instead TTS crashes. I uploaded 17 times last month, and no changes since then, so this is all after the launch of the new Tacx site... I am running TTS3.10 and was not planning on upgrading, since it is bee...

My LBS recommended the Continental trainer tire as being much better than the Tacx, and while I do see some black dust from the tire after this winter's training, about 2500km, the tire still looks like new.

It sounds like you sold more than you should have. I assume it is the black tubes in front that attach to the blue frame that you have sold right? In that case you simply need to see if you can get them back, since every single Tacx trainer, with or without a steerer already has this. Whoever you so...

It is possible to replace the battery and would only cost the price of the battery.

I did the Tacx Upgrade PC T1925.30 for Tacx Ergotrainers Cosmos + Flow
Which cost me 189 euros on an online shop. I believe I have seen it for a little less as well.

We need a physicist here :-)
Obviously there could be other mechanisms involved here, for example maybe the urathene roller is involved as a source for the charge, that is then flows in the direction of the butyl tire and then latex tube and then into the frame.

Balloon and Sweater experiment

I'm sure you did the experiment as a kid, rubbing a balloon on your sweater and thereafter able to stick the balloon the wall or ceiling due the difference in charge. The charge difference between wool and latex is 105 which is three times more than the difference between butyl and latex, but consid...

That's funny you asked about the high pitched noise, I have never thought about or noticed it until I watched the video. I will have to see if I notice it when I am training tomorrow. I have no idea why this doesn't happen on the road. But I have run both my polar and Garmin computers on my bike at ...

Thanks, nice to have confirmation!

It was a longshot and even the Tacx support engineers I was in contact with had not heard of this. So it's nice to have someone else substantiate this.

Well you're probably not going to believe this...

Just to address your scepticism (and my curiosity) I remounted the latex tube and immediately had the erratic hr symptoms again. And you can even see it on Youtube:

Longshot on heartrate...

I had a similar problem with very erratic heartrate on my Fortius, bouncing like crazy +-20-30 beats. After a bunch of experiments I figured it was caused by static electricty caused by using a latex tube and a butyl tire. Tested on two different bikes, the one with latex was erratic, the other was ...

36 is the minimum...

I have had the same experience, and my finding is that 36 is the absolute minimum without the training pausing for me. Mcorn, I for example am doing intervals on some RLVs so after 9 minutes of pushing my AT I take a one minute rest, and if the stretch I am on is on a hill I need to slow my cadence ...

Upgrade hardware

You will need to upgrade the controller in order to run windows 7/64bit. This upgrade
http://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;n ... =1749:1752
provides both a compatable controller + latest TTS 3.X

I have done this upgrade and it works just fine.

I put the bike directly on the floor before I switched innertubes and I still had the problem, but only with my aluminum bike, the CF works perfectly, with or without the carpet. I tried 3 different HR monitors 2 different HR rate belts turned off all electronics moved the bike further away, move the bike closer And I still had the erratic pulse, but only on my aluminum trainer bike No problem on my CF road bike. Difference in composition of tube and tire...

Static electrity is created when electrons flow from one material to another, since one of the materials must have a slightly different charge. In the case of the tire it is a butyl training tire, and the tube is latex. I suspect the friction of the tube within the tire when it is compressed on the ...
